Chelsea took her first trip from Canada to Santa Teresa in 2013. And that was it. She returned as often as she could to her magical beach town until making a permanent move in 2020.

During those first few months, Chelsea bounced from one Airbnb to the next, and noticed it was tricky to keep her kitchen stocked with cooking essentials. As Santa Teresa became increasingly popular, drawing more visitors each year, she realized that arriving to your Airbnb to find the necesities already there for you, plus the chance to discover the wonderful local products she has had the chance to, would make the Santa Teresa experience even more magical.
Our Story
Artisans + Initiatives
Auténtic exists for two reasons - to bring to you the best quality products during your stay in Santa Teresa - but also to promote the local Artisan community, and support economically the local population. We are committed to:
-
working with and buying from small businesses in the area
-
reusing and recycling
-
creating new opportunities for the local population
Meet our Artisans
Nena is just one of the amazing vendors we work with. She has been making 100% natural coconut oil on her property in Cabuya for over 20 years. She also produces honey, marmelades and a number of other delicious all natural products.

Re-used supplies and materials
We source as much as we possibly can from items that can be reused and repurposed. For example, all of the glass jars we use to distribute Nena's coconut oil come from collecting empty glass food product jars from hostels and restaurants in Santa Teresa.
Our Mission - create opportunity
Our dream is to grow Auténtica to a point where we can create jobs for those living in the area, in particular those who are affected the most by the ever rising prices in Santa Teresa.
